He would be so proud of that. What a gift you also have with your words.

What an amazing tribute to your friend and amazing musician. Sorry for your loss and thanks for introducing Michael’s music to those of us who didn’t know about him.

His performances (first year was mostly songs from “Land of Enchantment”, second years was from “Replay”) were astonishing. What a great experience for the young students attending. I also briefly chatted with Michael both years – he was a kind, very interesting person. His passing is such a loss to us all.

Michael was such a kind humble person. The first time I met him to take a lesson here in ABQ–I didn’t know what to expect and was a bit nervous/intimidated.

Upon arriving at his house in the foothills, we sat at his kitchen table. The maestro and I. We spoke just a bit and before I knew it he took my hands in his. Whipped out files and sandpaper and began filing my nails. I’ll never forget his humbleness. Likewise I’ll never forget the depth of wisdom that he imparted to me. Goodbye Michael.

All 3 are very beautiful.

If you are fortunate enough to have a teacher who is also a friend that is a hell of a combination.
Here’s to his family and friends finding some sort of peace and solace during this difficult time.
